Commercial Manufacturing Evidence
Heavy GSM cotton fabrics place greater demands on preparation, dyeing, and finishing. Increased fabric weight can make consistent processing more difficult, particularly when managing crease marks, uniform preparation, and production efficiency.
Fibre52 has been commercially evaluated on heavyweight cotton constructions across multiple manufacturing environments, making Heavy GSM one of the strongest demonstrated commercial applications of the process.
Documented at a Bangladesh mill (commercial account): 70–75°C PFD plus low-temperature soaping (60–70°C), versus a 95°C caustic PFD process, resolved all existing crease mark issues. A comparable result was documented at an India mill: 60°C PFD plus low-temperature soaping (75°C), versus a 98°C caustic PFD process with high-temperature soaping.
Preserving more of the cotton fiber during preparation can influence finished fabric characteristics. The specific evaluations performed vary by project, customer requirements, and independent testing protocols.

Environmental Assessment
The documented manufacturing improvements presented throughout this page originate from a different approach to cotton preparation. Fibre52 operates within a lower-temperature, neutral pH process window (typically 60–75°C), reducing manufacturing intensity while preserving more of the cotton fiber during preparation.

An independent Life Cycle Assessment demonstrated measurable environmental improvements across commercial cotton manufacturing.
Results are based on an independent gate-to-gate Life Cycle Assessment conducted by Politecnico di Torino using primary commercial manufacturing data. Actual results vary depending on manufacturing conditions and product configuration.
